Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9301This paper proposes the design of a water supply system for a residential area in the municipality of Tomé-Açu, Pará state, Brazil. The system was designed to serve a population of 11,085 inhabitants in Area 1 and 3,310 inhabitants in Area 2, with a 20-year design horizon. Groundwater extraction will be carried out through deep tubular wells, with flow rates designed for 80 m³/h. Water treatment, necessary due to the high iron concentrations characteristic of the Barreiras Aquifer System, consists of a simplified water treatment plant (WTP) with cascade tray aerators, descending rapid sand filters, and disinfection with calcium hypochlorite. The distribution network was designed using the Hardy-Cross method, configured as a looped network, with diameters ranging from 50 mm to 250 mm, and minimum dynamic pressures exceeding 10 m.w.c at all nodes. The reservoirs, one ground-level and one elevated in each area, were designed to store one-third of the maximum daily consumption.
