In the post-pandemic scenario, there is an intensity in continuing training programs focused on literacy and literacy, revealing possible gaps in the initial training of literacy teachers. The choice for the topic is justified by participation in the Toy Library and Literacy and Literacy Laboratory study group (BLALLET), and by the concern generated throughout the Pedagogy course at UFPA – CCAST regarding the topic. The present work aims to reflect on the initial training of teachers and literacy teachers, based on the analysis of the concepts of literacy and literacy in the curricular components of the UFPA/CCAST pedagogy course, as well as understanding the contributions of the BLALLET Project activities that involved the study of instruments such as the organization of the initial years of primary education, planning, evaluation, monitoring and playfulness in the literacy cycle. The methodology consisted of a qualitative approach, using bibliographical research and participant observation. In view of the results obtained, it was clear that the curricular components of the course show important contributions to teacher training, however, they present a relatively low workload in subjects focused on literacy, since the Pedagogy course provides the work of professionals especially in initial years. Thus, undergraduates receive partial training regarding the dimensions that permeate literacy.
