Only 3 out of the 33 profiled wells have resulted in hydrocarbons indications. On a geological context, it is one of the most unknown due to its colossal proportions.Among the projects aiming at a better understanding of this basin for different purposes, there is the initiative of the National Petroleum Agency (ANP) that through a survey conducted over nine lines distributed along the area in question seeks to provide improved handling of data in order to analyze possible occurrences of oil and/or gas reservoirs.
