This strategy aims to unify the spare management, expected consumption and application of maintenance plans. The transfer chutes are essential items for the process once they are responsible for the assets connections, therefore, the absence of their maintenance plan can cause relevant financial impacts. Based on this, this work aims to seek ways to reduce the programed stops for maintenance of transfer chutes. In 2019, between January and October, 25.39 hours of unscheduled stops for maintenance were registered, and we have had numerous deviations of programed activities to solve leaks on the chutes. In this period, the wastes caused by the leaks were approximately R$1.141.533,05, quantifying only what was not produced and the contracts that were done to provide support to the maintenance team. To solve this problem, this work proposes the spare management, a creation of maintenance plans and a consumption prediction based on leaks history. As the method to solve, it was needed a mapping of the physical conditions and asset life of the chutes and, in parallel, to understand the politics of the company where the work was developed.
