The proposal was applied in 8th and 9th grade classes at EMEF Saint Clair Passarinho, located in the Amazon region, in the municipality of Altamira/PA. The methodology was based on teacher mediation, with contextual classes, guidance on how to incorporate geographical and everyday knowledge into written arguments, essay writing, and completing questionnaires, concluding with an evaluation of the experience based on student feedback. The objective was to encourage students to critically reflect on socio-environmental issues, integrating knowledge from Geography, Amazonian Studies, and Environmental Education through the writing of argumentative essays. These essays compared historical and current contexts, promoting a more analytical and conscious perspective. As a result, greater student participation and confidence in writing were observed, with the identification of everyday problems and the suggestion of possible solutions, thus contributing to the development of argumentative and reflective skills. This activity demonstrated the relevance of writing as a pedagogical tool in the teaching of Geography, highlighting its interdisciplinary potential and its contribution to meaningful and critical learning.
