The Loricaríidae represent one of the most specious families in the Amazon basin, accounting for around 1,173 of the diversity of the Siluriformes order and are also of great economic importance due to their varied morphological aspects, mainly for ornamental and aquarium purposes. However, despite this vast diversity, knowledge about the helminth fauna of the Loricariidae is considered limited, with estimates indicating that only 3% of these fish have been investigated for their parasites. In view of this, this study sought to investigate the parasitofauna of Loricariidae fish from the Guamá River basin, in northeastern Pará. As a result, two new species belonging to the genus Demidospermus Suriano 1983 are reported from the gills of Spatuloricaria sp. and Loricaria sp. and are described here based on morphological analyses.Acesso AbertoAmazôniaDemidospermusLoricariidaeMonopisthocotylaSiluriformesAmazonDemidospermusLoricariidaeCNPQ::CIENCIAS BIOLOGICAS::ZOOLOGIADuas novas espécies de Demidospermus (Monopisthocotyla: Dactylogyridae) parasitando as brânquias de peixe Loricariidae (Ostariophysi, Siluriformes) da Amazônia paraense, BrasilTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - MonografiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
