Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/4961This study tried to identify the feasibility, security and benefits of the immediate femoral sheath removal after coronary stenting angioplasty, using one weight-adjusted bolus of heparin, with or without reversal by protamine at the end of the procedure. In this manner, it were enclosed 24 patients submitted to the percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty, from March to September, 2007. The patients were divided into two groups: the Protamine group, who received 1mg per 100 IU heparin at the end of the procedure and the Control group, who did not receive protamine. At the end of the study, it has been found clinical similiarities between these patients and the world wide actual literature. The immediate sheath removal and the weight-adjusted dosis of heparin did not bring any meaningful bleeding or vascular complications. The use of protamine seems to be a safe practice, because none of patients have shown symptoms that suggested stent thrombosis after angioplasty. Besides, most of vascular and bleeding complications occurred in control group.
