Therefore, the incorporation of blast furnace slag, a steel waste, into a clay matrix for the manufacture of red ceramic was studied. The raw materials were characterized chemically (XRF and EDS), mineralogically (XRD), thermally (TG/DTG) and morphologically (SEM), and were later formed and compositions with 5, 10 and 15% of slag incorporated into the matrix. After formulation, the specimens were made and dried at room temperature and oven and then burned at 850, 950 and 1050 ° C. To determine the technological properties, the tests of water absorption, apparent porosity, bulk density and bending stress were performed. In addition, the burnt parts were characterized by XRD and SEM.
