Through semi-structured interviews conducted with six Club participants, we sought to understand how the book circle experience impacted participants' academic/work life and personal well-being in this context. The interviewees pointed to the Reading Club as an important support in their personal and academic/professional lives in the pandemic context. Through the club, the interviewees reported having experienced a relationship with reading that was different from the academic one, marked by the absence of the feeling of obligation, by reading works in their entirety, and by the possibility of sharing their impressions with other readers, broadening points of view about the same work. The participants emphasized the importance of the connection of the works chosen with their lived context, which enabled the discussion of relevant themes for personal and academic development, as well as reflections on the pandemic context. It can be said that the book club proved to be a powerful tool for promoting student mental health in that it allowed experiences of meeting, bonding, dialogue about issues related to the lives of participants and the experience of belonging and welcoming in the context of suspension of classes and away from classroom activities.
