Orientador: Joel Buenano Macambira. 2010. 372 f. Trabalho de Curso (Bacharelado em Geologia) - Faculdade de Geologia, Instituto de Geociências, Universidade Federal do Pará, Belém, 2010. Acesso em:.http://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/2042At the Institute of Geosciences, Federal University of Para (IG/UFPA), the elective course on "Minerografia" (Ore Microscopy) seeks to introduce students of the penultimate semester of undergraduate in Geology in the ways of this technique, which is of great importance because it allows identify numerous opaque minerals with petrographic microscope (adapted to reflected light), ask extremely useful in the study of paragenesis and textures of minerals in addition to the geology of mineral deposits. This work conducted studies of ores from the provinces of Rio Maria and Carajás, generating specific texts for each of the deposits with emphasis on its opaque minerals. It also resulted in the organization of the collection of samples for the course of Minerografia, that are used also by teachers of the Institute of Geosciences who teach in graduate school. Currently the collection contains 306 samples, 128 from deposits of Carajas and Rio Maria Provinces and 178 samples belonging to various deposits of which has little geological knowledge. Seventy seven samples belongs to deposits from Bolivia (labeled SP), which were donated by Prof. Dr. Daniel Howard of University Tomas Frias (UFMTF) and show a diversity of minerals and textures of great value. The main minerals are the sulfides of Sb, Ag, Cu-Sb, Cu-Sn-Fe, Pb-Cu-Sb and Pb-Sn-Sb. All the samples were organizated, recovered and catalogued to compose the collection of the Group of Economic Geology (GGE) of the IG/UFPA, samples whose characteristics are very useful in the field of Economic Geology. This work has identified a great diversity of minerals from ore deposits that exist in the Carajas and Rio Maria Provinces, thus confirming its economic potential, enriching the achievements of the GGE/IG/UFPA, since polished sections were recovered, others made up, and new minerals were recognized. In addition, the author acquired experience of extreme importance in the field of Economic Geology, specifically in Ore Microscopy.
