This paper proposes an optimization of the maintenance plan for a knuckle boom crane truck, based on the principles of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM). Using a qualitative-quantitative case study, the research analyzes the transition from a traditional maintenance model based on fixed chronological intervals to an approach focused on risk and component condition. To achieve this, the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) tool was applied to identify critical failure modes in vital subsystems, establishing a threshold Risk Priority Number (RPN) for predictive interventions. Projected results indicate a 50% increase in Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and a 50% reduction in Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), raising the equipment's inherent availability from 95.2% to 98.3%.
