It is known as Acai, which is a type of palm tree, where it is found a baccaceous fruit, which can be found in Brazil in the states of Acre, Amazonas, Pará, Maranhão, Rondonia and Tocantins. The objective of the present work was to produce a pH strip from the hydroalcoholic extract of Euterpe oleracea Mart pulp for identification of acidic and basic substances of our daily life, also seeking to develop in a simple, fast and low cost way. alternative to be used in the teaching of chemistry in experimental practical classes with the subject of Inorganic Functions in Teaching: Elementary, Middle and Higher. The methodology used was carried out in stages: (i) obtaining the acai pulp from the acai fruits, (ii) obtaining the extract from the Euterpe oleracea Mart. pulp, (iii) constructing a pH scale (0- 14), (iv) obtaining pH paper from hydroalcoholic extract, (v) identification of acidic and basic substances of our daily life with both extract and pH indicator paper, (vi) determination of acetic acid content in commercial vinegars, and (vii) a comparison of the results obtained from% acetic acid with both the synthetic indicator (phenolphthalein) and the natural indicator. Satisfactory results were obtained from the tape tests and the Euterpe oleracea Mart. pulp extract.
