It seeks to analyze the aesthetic, choreographic, and symbolic aspects that differentiate these characters in Brazilian quadrilhas juninas, considering both tradition and performative reinvention. The research adopts cartography as a methodology (PASSOS; KASTRUP; ESCÓSSIA, 2015; ROLNIK, 1989), understood as a way of following processes, mapping bodily paths, and registering creative choices through lived experience, in dialogue with the idea of writing that accompanies reality in its fabrication (DELEUZE; GUATTARI, 1995). The authorial method Raiz-Cena supports the analysis of choreographic construction, stage presence, and the symbolic expression of the Rainha Junina, articulating popular knowledge and creative processes (SALLES, 2008; 2011). Observations conducted between 2006 and 2022 in the states of Pará, Tocantins, Ceará, and Sergipe demonstrate how cultural, performative, and bodily elements shape performance and reinforce unique identities. Furthermore, by recognizing memory and orality as forms of transmitting knowledge (CANDAU, 2016; BRANDÃO, 2002), the study legitimizes popular knowledge inscribed in the body as valid epistemological devices. The work also highlights the scarcity of academic research on the subject, reinforcing the importance of recording and valuing practices that emerge from popular culture. By combining autobiographical narrative, field observation, and aesthetic reflection (FERNANDES, 2002), this research contributes to the inclusion of cultura junina in academia, emphasizing the richness of creative processes and offering references that may inspire other artists and researchers to explore and recognize the relevance of Brazilian popular culture.
