However, research reveals significant gaps in the connection between archival practice and the conservation of physical documents, which are essential for collective memory, highlighting the need for guidelines that integrate Archival Science and culture in a digitized context. Thus, the research aims to demonstrate the relevance of Archival Science for cultural preservation and the conservation of memory found in physical documents. This research was conducted through a literature review, employing an exploratory-descriptive method for its construction. Articles and journals found in newspapers and databases, accessed electronically, with a temporal cut between 2014 and 2024, were used. It is crucial to understand Archival Science as an important field for cultural preservation and the formation of collective identity. Archiving activities should be directly connected to the cultural demands of society, encouraging the appreciation of historical and social memory. In this way, the union between Archival Science and culture can greatly aid in the conservation of a people's identity, allowing future generations to understand their origins and customs.
