The research proposal arose from experiences during Supervised Internship III: Portuguese Language and its Literatures in Contexts of Inclusion, offered by the Faculty of Letters of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), Bragança Campus. The internship was carried out in a class in the 1st Stage of Youth and Adult Education (EJA) High School. The main objectives of this work were: to recognize reading as a tool for accessing knowledge; to develop creative and authorial writing through the production of texts in cordel literature; to promote the recovery of cultural identity and popular memory through the production and reading of regional texts, working with cordel literature by Manoel Sousa Ramos. The methodology used is qualitative and bibliographic. The main theoretical references used were great thinkers and legislation, contributions from Pimenta and Lima (2010); Resolution No. 4,262 (2012), BNCC (2018), among other references, which contributed fundamentally to the development of the theme.
