Radiographs are essential tools in dental practice, complementing clinical data and aiding in decision-making. This study assessed the knowledge of dental students at FOUFPA in Stomatology and Dental Radiology, aiming to identify learning gaps and propose improvement strategies. The study was qualitative and exploratory, with a descriptive approach, and included the participation of 210 students from the 4th to the 10th semester. Data were collected through an unannounced questionnaire containing six personal questions and ten multiple-choice questions about Stomatology and Dental Radiology. Inclusion criteria required students to be enrolled in the course and to voluntarily participate in the research. Results showed that 55% of the participants were female. Most volunteers selfassessed as having good knowledge (58.1%) and medium confidence (78.6%) in making diagnoses. Questions about squamous cell carcinoma and incisional biopsy had high accuracy rates (63.8% and 77.6%, respectively), while the question about peripheral giant cell lesion had only 37.6% accuracy, highlighting areas needing more focus. The study concludes that although students have a reasonable knowledge base, there are significant gaps, especially in radiographic interpretation and the diagnosis of certain pathologies.
