Acesso em:.http://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/1624Currently, in Brazil, the Obstetric care goes through a transitional moment, from a medicalized to a humanized model, which aims to reduce interventions such as episiotomy, oxytocin use in labor, amniotomy and cesarean section without indication. However, the rates of unnecessary interventions are still high in many hospitals in Brazil. The present study aims to describe the frequency of interventions performed during labor and childbirth in women attended at a public maternity hospital in the State of Pará. This is a cross-sectional, descriptive, retrospective and quantitative documentary study in the Department of Records of the Santa Casa de Misericórdia Foundation of Pará - FSCMPA. A total of 358 medical records of pregnant women with obstetrical risk parturients habitual, were analyzed in the period from 2015 to 2016. The predominance of the age group from 19 to 25 years old (47.8%), with incomplete primary education (36.3%), stable union (64.8%), "home" activities (71.2%), living in the metropolitan region of Belém (51.4%). Regarding the clinical-obstetric conditions, 50.5% attended 6 (six) or more prenatal consultations, on admission, 55.5% presented strong uterine dynamics, 59.4% were admitted with an intact amniotic sac. It was verified that 99.7% presented a cervix with a cervical dilatation ≥ 4 cm (97.4%), as compared to Plano De Lee, 33.7% admitted with a presentation ranging from -3 to -1. For obstetric interventions, amniotomy was performed in 6.1% of women, oxytocin during labor and delivery was 64.2% and for episiotomy 16.7%. Only 28.2% presented assistance without intervention. It was found through the G Williams statistical test that among the interventions performed, the only statistically significant relationship with time was the use of oxytocin. This test also showed that there was no statistically significant relationship of position at birth with laceration occurrence, as there is no relation between the interventions performed and the professional category. It can be concluded that the prevalence of obstetric interventions in labor and delivery is still very high in this institution. Thus, the research shows that the most frequent interventions are still use of oxytocin, followed by episiotomy and amniotomy, this result shows the need to improve the good practices of attention to delivery and birth and updating of professionals.Acesso AbertoEnfermagem obstétricaParto normalSaúde públicaMaternidade públicaCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::ENFERMAGEM::ENFERMAGEM OBSTETRICAParto normal e as intervenções ocorridas em uma maternidade pública no estado do ParáTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
