Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10019This research analyzed the preservation and conservation strategies of microfilm collection at the General Archive of the Regional Labor Court of the 8th Region (TRT8), located in the city of Ananindeua, discussing the strengths and weaknesses of these practices. The study analyses how these strategies are currently situated, with technical recommendations and archival standards for these practices. The general objective aims to analyze the microfilm preservation practices adopted by the organization, with the specific objectives describing the history, characteristics, and conservation of this medium, as well the state of the art of its practices within the institution. The methodology is characterized as qualitative and exploratory, conducted through a literature review and case study. The data collection involved the application of a questionnaire to the head of the unit and a technical visit collecting information about the environmental conditions and physical infrastructure of the collection in March 2025 and February 2026. The results identified weaknesses such as the absence of thermo-hygrometric control and the shutdown of the air conditioning system outside working hours, and identification of a possible degradation of the medium by the "vinegar syndrome," in addition to a lack of emergency policies for the collection and the absence of a digitization project. On the other hand, the 2026 visit identified the relocation of the collection to a climate-controlled room and discussions to a possible review of preservation practices in the archive, along with the continued installation of fire safety systems on-site.
