Due to the privileging of the standard language variety, linguistic prejudice at the university represents a challenge to linguistic diversity. In this context, this study aims to investigate how linguistic prejudice manifests itself in the university context and what impacts this practice has on the academic trajectory of quilombola students from the Baixo Tocantins region. Addressing the issue of linguistic prejudice at the university contributes to a critical reflection on the role of the university in valuing linguistic diversity and promoting a more equitable education. This study is grounded in the theoretical contributions of Bagno (1999, 2003, 2007), Bortoni-Ricardo (2004), Leite (2000), among others. Methodologically, this is a qualitative, descriptive study, developed through a literature review and field research, using an online questionnaire administered to 44 quilombola students from the Federal University of Pará.
