Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9803This undergraduate final paper analyzes the raising of free-range chickens in a semi-confined system with ecological management, using as reference the production practices observed at Sítio São João, located in the municipality of Acará, Pará, Brazil. The objective was to describe and analyze procedures related to housing structure, feeding management, water and sanitary management, poultry litter renewal, and the reuse of organic residues through composting. The research is descriptive and qualitative, developed from February to May 2026 through direct observation, collection of field information, photographic records, and bibliographic review based on verifiable technical and scientific sources. The observed system combines night housing, daytime access to a paddock, feed prepared on the property, supplementation with locally available food resources, treated water supply, preventive health care, and the use of poultry litter as an input for soil fertilization. The results indicate that semi-confinement can support bird rusticity, sanitary organization, local resource use, and complementary incomegeneration when there is planning, hygiene, management records, and continuous monitoring of the flock.
