Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10413This study aims to present the staging process of two plays directed by Cláudio Barradas, a prominent director from Pará who played a significant role in the state's theater scene during the second half of the 20th century. The two selected works are Nossa Cidade (1978) and O Papagaio (1980), both produced during his tenure as a professor in the Actor Training Program at the Federal University of Pará’s School of Theater and Dance (ETDUFPA). The research is justified by the need to investigate Cláudio Barradas's extensive theatrical output as an ETDUFPA professor during the 1970s, a period when he spearheaded major productions and played a pivotal role in training other directors from Pará. Overall, this study sought to analyze the staging of productions directed by Cláudio Barradas and his contribution to the history of theater in Pará. The methodological approach is documentary in nature. To this end, the study utilized materials from the Newspaper Archive Hemeroteca at the Arthur Vianna Public Library, the ETDUFPA archives, and the Cláudio Barradas Collection—housed at UFPA’s Amazon Memory Center Centro de Memória da Amazônia and linked to the "Scenic Memories in the Amazon Collection" project coordinated by the Perau Research Group Memory, History, and Performing Arts in the Amazon. The research is also grounded in the concepts of Memory and Oral History proposed by Bezerra (2013) and the "Poetics of Group Theater" framework organized by Andrade (2020), linking discussions on staging, memory, and Amazonian theatricality through authors from the fields of theater and social memory studies.
