Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8942This Final Undergraduate Project proposes a discussion of a musical movement in the Northern region of Brazil, more specifically analyzed in the state of Pará. It examines the emergence and establishment of a unique way of perceiving, consuming, and commercializing international music within a specific and distinct Brazilian context. In Brazilian history, it is common to observe musical movements that analyze international artistic phenomena and reinterpret them to become part of the Brazilian national identity. For instance, Tropicália drew inspiration from American rock to evolve into a movement within the national territory. Similarly, in the regional context of Pará, the advent of tecnobrega and tecnomelody reflects an analogous phenomenon to what occurred with Tropicália. By appropriating international music and creating lyrics that resonate within a specific regional context, the phenomenon from Pará also engages in the discussion initiated by Oswald de Andrade in his publication of the Manifesto Antropófago (1928). This manifesto, in essence, argues for the transformation of international art into something nationalized. Thus, music, represented in this Final Undergraduate Project as an art form, is analyzed from a dual perspective: one of nationalization and another of profit, grounded in the discussion of the culture industry proposed by Theodor Adorno and Max Horkheimer (2014).
