Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8727To mitigate the effects of carbon dioxide (CO2), global climate action plans have been developed, such as the Paris Agreement, in which the signatory nations committed to reducing CO2 emissions. In this context, the implementation of tools that assist in CO2 management enables the oil and gas industry to adapt its operations. Additionally, it allows for alignment with the transition to a more environmentally sustainable energy matrix while maintaining energy security and economic stability. Among the proposed tools for CO2 management are CCS technologies, which encompass everything from carbon dioxide capture to its safe storage in a suitable geological environment. In this scenario, the Paraná Basin, located in the Central- Southern region of Brazil, presents potential for CO2 sequestration. This research focuses on the Irati Formation within the Paraná Basin, analyzing its shale heterogeneity and potential for CO2 sequestration. Although several studies have been conducted on the Irati Formation, there remains a gap in geophysical knowledge related to this area. The methodology adopted in this study involves the analysis and interpretation of 2D seismic data and well logs to characterize the reservoir for CO2 storage. The results were obtained through the determination of lateral continuity, achieved by the integrated interpretation of the data.
