Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8964From the relations between Science and Art, understood here as inseparable human expressions and instruments of understanding of the world, we propose, through this research, to investigate in what terms is the use of arts in science teaching in schools of basic education in Brazil, municipality of Breves. This is a qualitative research. The study was carried out with 11 (eleven) teachers of the municipal public network of 07 (seven) schools in the municipality of Breves. We adopted as a data collection instrument a semi-structured questionnaire. The questions were about experiences with Art and Science in undergraduate, in service and about the importance of this conjunction in the view of teachers in the learning of scientific content by students. In the analysis of the results we evidenced that the majority of the teachers had some experience with their teachers in the use of arts to teach science. In addition, we also observed that the teachers have reproduced teaching strategies involving the arts to teach science contents. The teachers emphasized that the major contributions of the Science and Art approach in the classroom to student learning are motivating students to learn, participate more actively and arouse their curiosity.
