To address the challenges posed by urban expansion, climatic adversities, and industrial development, it is necessary to enhance the transmission and distribution of electrical energy. Thus, the objective of this study was to analyze the effect of adding Ni in concentrations of 0.04% and 0.3%, as well as the annealing heat treatment at temperatures of 200, 300, and 400 ºC, on the electrical and mechanical properties of the Al-0.5%Si alloy. The alloys were cast using the direct static solidification method in a U-shaped metal mold. Subsequently, samples were taken for chemical and macrostructural analysis of the alloys, and the remaining materials were machined to reduce the diameter from 22.0 mm to 18.5 mm. Later, they were rolled to produce wires with a diameter of 3 mm. After rolling, samples were separated for the annealing heat treatment at 200, 300, and 400 ºC. Following these processes, all samples were subjected to electrical resistance and mechanical strength tests. The results obtained from the chemical analyses showed that the manufactured alloys were close to the values established in the study. The macrostructures exhibited morphological changes due to annealing, leading to predominantly equiaxed grains. The electrical conductivity analysis revealed that, when comparing untreated alloys with those treated at 400 ºC, there was an increase in electrical conductivity of 4.81%, 5.97%, and 6.73% for the Al-Si, Al-Si-0.04%Ni, and Al-Si-0.3%Ni alloys, respectively. However, when analyzing the tensile test results of the alloys treated at 400 ºC and untreated, a reduction in mechanical strength was observed in the treated alloys of 57.05%, 55.10%, and 61.78% for the Al-Si, Al-Si-0.04%Ni, and Al-Si-0.3%Ni alloys, respectively. It is concluded that the heat treatment modified the morphology of the alloys. The applied heat treatment was effective in improving electrical properties. However, mechanical strength showed a reduction when the heat treatment was performed.Acesso AbertoFundiçãoLiga Al-SiLiga Al-Si-NiRecozimentoCastingAlloy Al-SiAlloy Al-Si-NiAnnealingCNPQ::ENGENHARIAS::ENGENHARIA DE MATERIAIS E METALURGICA::METALURGIA DE TRANSFORMACAO::TRATAMENTO TERMICOS, MECANICOS E QUIMICOSAnálise da propriedade elétrica e mecânica das ligas Al-0,5%Si-0,04%Ni e Al-0,5%Si-0,30%Ni submetidas ao tratamento térmico de recozimento a 200, 300 e 400 °C por 2 horasTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
