Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8831This study examines the transparency of information regarding solid waste management, as guaranteed by Law No. 12,305/2010, which establishes the National Solid Waste Policy. This transparency is essential for enabling citizens to monitor public policies related to the environment. The general objective is to analyze the planning information and transparency of urban solid waste management in the capital cities of Brazil's Northern Region. To this end, exploratory, descriptive, documentary, and bibliographic research with a qualitative approach was conducted. Data collection and analysis were performed using government websites and legislation, in addition to bibliographic surveys for data. The results show that the evaluated solid waste plans need to comply with the transparency requirements established by Law 12,305/2010 for the solid waste sector to ensure public access and, consequently, the development of more effective public policies.
