Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10435This study analyzes the financialization of private-market higher education in Brazil, investigating how the corporate governance model of Grupo Ser Educacional S.A. operates as a mechanism of subordination of educational activity and teaching work to the logic of capital valorization, between 2018 and 2023. The research adopts a qualitative, bibliographic and documentary approach, complemented by secondary quantitative data, and articulates the categories of financialization, commodification, corporate governance, platformization and labor precarization. The results demonstrate that financial rationality does not remain confined to corporate administration but penetrates pedagogical organization, academic infrastructure and the material conditions of teaching work through four structural movements: (1) the platformization and algorithmic management of teaching, which reduces faculty autonomy and intensifies labor exploitation; (2) accumulation by acquisition and market concentration; (3) the financialization of student life through the fintech B.UNI and the so-called "educational ecosystem"; and (4) spatial rationalization, expressed in the return of properties and the precarization of academic infrastructure. Empirical studies on institutions belonging to the group reveal work intensification, overcrowded classrooms, wage insecurity and loss of pedagogical autonomy.
