The work is divided into three chapters: the first addresses the contextualization of the city, of the social classes, and the formation of Reduto as an economic element; the second elucidates the criminalization process from the perspective of the press; and the third discusses the resistance in favor of the existing market at the Doca, highlighting its commercial importance. The methodology is based on a bibliographic analysis combined diverse sources, namely: the newspaper A Constituição: Órgão do Partido Conservador (analyzed quantitatively through tables); the newspaper Diário de Belém; literary works (the novel Hortência); cartography (map of Belém); and photography (photo of the Doca). Every sources helped a reflection about the location chosen for this discussion, that involves urbanization, social classes, and the economy.Acesso AbertoBelle-époqueCriminalizaçãoDoca do RedutoCriminalizationCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::HISTORIA::HISTORIA DO BRASIL::HISTORIA REGIONAL DO BRASIL“Mal com elle, peior sem elle”: criminalização, comércio e resistência na Doca do Reduto em Belém do Pará (1870-1889).Trabalho de Curso - Graduação - ArtigoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
