Among these species of plants, Oenocarpus bacaba Mart., Better known as bacabeira, produces fruits (bacaba) with antioxidant, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and of high nutritional value. Thus, the use of a naturally occurring oil to coat cobalt oxide nanoparticles can optimize aspects essential for technological and biomedical applications such as disease treatments, diagnostics and biosensors, but its use in synthesis of nanomaterials is still little investigated. Thus, bacaba oil was used to coat synthesized cobalt oxide nanoparticles using the thermal decomposition technique. The samples were characterized by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) in two measurements, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and dispersive energy spectroscopy (EDS). The results obtained by XRD show, in the first measurement, the characteristic curve of amorphous material indicating a surplus of this in the samples, on the other hand, the second measurement, carried out post-dispersion, shows intensities diffracted X-ray intensities as a function 2θ at positions near 34º e 60º, that may be related to the phase of cobalt oxide (CoO, Co3O4, CoO (OH)). SEM images with coupled EDS revealed particle aggregates, possibly nanometric and spherical, with grains of different sizes; The chemical composition of the samples highlights the good concentration of elements of cobalt, carbon and oxygen. It was that bacaba oil has the potential to optimize the synthesis of cobalt oxide nanoparticles by thermal decomposition.Acesso AbertoAmazôniaÓleo de bacabaNanopartículasAmazonBacaba oilNanoparticlesCNPQ::CIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::QUIMICA::FISICO-QUIMICASíntese e caracterização de partículas de cobalto utilizando óleo de bacabaTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
