Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9865This Course Completion Work, organized in article format, focuses on Mathematical Modeling in the context of Mathematics Education, bringing together recent academic productions and formative experiences developed during supervised teaching internships. The first article presents a bibliographic study of works that discuss Mathematical Modeling as a teaching practice, published in the proceedings of the National Meeting of Mathematics Education (ENEM), in the 2019 and 2022 editions, and the International Seminar on Research in Mathematics Education (SIPEM), in the 2021 and 2024 editions. Its objective was to understand how this methodology has been discussed, applied, and consolidated in academic research in the field. The second article, with a qualitative, empirical, and descriptive-interpretative approach, analyzes experience reports produced during Supervised Internships I, II, III, and IV in the Mathematics Teaching Degree program, carried out in basic education schools in the municipality of Abaetetuba, Pará, between 2023 and 2025. The investigation aimed to identify evidence of Mathematical Modeling in pedagogical practices marked by contextualization, adaptation of mathematical language, and teacher mediation. In general, both articles show that Mathematical Modeling contributes to bringing Mathematics closer to students’ reality, promoting more meaningful learning, encouraging critical thinking, and strengthening initial and continuing teacher education.
