Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/5703This study aimed to identify the scientific production produced and published in journals indexed in the main international databases, referring to the area of Occupational Therapy (TO) with the Ayres sensory integration method. An integrative literature review was performed, for which 3 articles were selected, published between 2014 and 2019, in the main databases to perform the search, namely: PubMed, Scielo, CAPS Journal Portal, LILACS, Occupational Therapy Journal from the University of São Paulo (USP) and Occupational Therapy Journal of the Federal University of São Carlos (Ufscar). The publications of interest to the study were selected according to the combinations of the descriptors: “Sensory integration AND occupational therapy” “sensory integration AND occupational therapy” and “sensory integration and occupational therapy”. Studies show that occupational therapist performance using sensory integration in individuals with sensory dysfunction has improved, especially in sensory processing, engagement and participation in daily activities.
