Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8837This article presents reflections based on the experiences of the curricular internship of the Pedagogy course, carried out in the public elementary school Santa Anastácia, in the municipality of Abaetetuba. The general objective of this study was to verify the importance of the relationship between family and school in the daily school life. To achieve this central objective, two specific objectives were defined: 1) to investigate the relevance of collaboration between family and school for children's learning, highlighting how this interaction can positively impact the academic and social development of students; and 2) to highlight the difficulties faced by the educator in building this relationship with the family in the school environment. The theoretical discussion is based on the works of authors such as Garcia (2014), Paro (2007), and Tiba (1996) who address the subject in question. The methodology adopted is characterized by a qualitative approach, with a field study that involved the participation of the coordinator and the teacher of the 4th year of elementary school. The data were collected through observations and interviews carried out during the internship, allowing an in-depth analysis of the inclusion of the family in the school life of children, based on the reflections of the subjects of the school. It is emphasized, therefore, that this study addressed the school's view on this partnership, considering that the family was not included in the interviews carried out during the investigation. The results indicate that the partnership between family and school is fundamental for the good performance of students, and that the absence of this collaboration can negatively impact learning. It is concluded that the responsibility for teaching does not fall only on the school; the student also learns through the family.
