Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10025This research investigated the cultural contributions of the CEU das Artes Public Library, located in the municipality of Ananindeua, Pará, as a public space for information and culture. A qualitative and descriptive approach was adopted, based on bibliographic research and a case study. Data were collected through a semi-structured questionnaire administered to the librarian responsible for the unit and through direct non-participant observation during visits to the library. The results showed that the library plays an important social role by providing access to its bibliographic collection, encouraging reading, and contributing to the democratization of knowledge. However, challenges related to technological infrastructure, accessibility, low user attendance, and the strengthening of reading promotion activities were identified.
