METHOD: it had been studied ten carrying patients chronic venous insufficiency, with ulcer of inferior members, with more than six months of clinical history, taken care of in the ambulatory of Vascular Surgery of the Santa Casa de Misericórdia do Pará Foundation. The collected data had been stored in a standardized formulary. The technique of Tessari was used to make the transformation of the sclerosing substance of the liquid form to the microfoam form. RESULTS: the average age of the patients was 47,6 years, the time of evolution of the ulcer was 21 months, the ulcers had 4,2 cm of diameter in median and the healing time of the ulcers had an average of 39 days, varying of 30 to the 56 days and the complete healing of the ulcers occurred in 90% of the cases (9/10). This study it didn’t demonstrate a direct relation between the size of the ulcer and it’s respective closing time, in the same way, the relation between the evolution time of the ulcer with it’s respective healing time didn’t present direct proportionality. CONCLUSION: it has stands out that this study presents a small casuistry, having the necessity of a bigger sample to consolidate the initial results. However, it is important that be considered the sclerotherapy with microfoam guided by ultrasound, as a plus alternative to the therapeutical armory of the chronic venous insufficiency and it’s complications, not having to be considered a modality that comes to substitute the established currently therapies.
