Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8827This research analyzes the former Pará Military Fire Brigade Headquarters (CBMPA) - located at Rua João Diogo, Nº. 236 - as an emblem of Belém's architectural and historical progress since its foundation in 1904. Built during the golden age of the Amazon Rubber Boom, the building is part of a series of public buildings that emerged from the urbanization experienced by the capital of Pará during the period known as the Belle Époque. The study highlights the relevance of the barracks as a representation of architectural heritage and its relationship with memory. In this light, the research draws on the writings of José de Menezes and Maria de Nazaré Sarges, respectively, regarding the history of the corporation and the patron of the Pará firefighters, Intendant Antônio Lemos. Methodologically, it is based on visual and documentary resources, such as photographic images and official institutional reports.
