Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8177The purpose of this Final Paper is to design and build a small computer numerical command (CNC) controlled milling machine for application on printed circuit boards (PCB). The objective of the construction of this milling machine is to allow the local community to have access to this technology, using materials and methods that enable a lower financial cost. At first, theoretical concepts such as milling, coordinate systems, machining, among other essential elements for an accurate understanding of the materials and methods used in the project were used. The materials and methods used in the system were also detailed, taking into account their functions according to the specific area in which they work in the project. Thus, the mechanical components used in the movement were examined; electronic control devices; as well as the software that generates the instructions for the machine's movements. To evaluate the machine, tests were carried out and the results obtained were analyzed. Thus, it was possible to verify the performance of the machine according to the specified criteria. Finally, relevant points of the project were addressed, including what was accomplished, the cost range, the results obtained and the constraints of the machine.
