Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/7509School geography is naturally characterized as a critical knowledge-forming agent, enabling students to think and act consciously, whether individually or collectively, positively transforming their reality. However, what we witness about geography teaching is the transfer of content in a repetitive, semi-ready and boring manner. To propose a renewal of this outdated way of teaching geography, the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) establishes that the teaching-learning process must be based on the development of skills and abilities, associated with transversal subjects, such as environmental education (EE), which since its emergence has stood out as an instrument of reflection in several areas: natural, social, educational. Through the environmental theme, social relations with the natural environment become dynamic on the most diverse scales of humanity. Given this scenario, this article seeks to show different perceptions about geography teaching associated with environmental education, corroborating (EE) as a fundamental tool for didactic renewal. The research was constructed through the qualitative method, survey of the (BNCC) and bibliographic review of academic readings. It also projects models of critical environmental education with the aim of reducing the difficulties currently felt.
