One of the risk groups are the elderly, now sexual dysfunction treatments and life expectancy increasing gradually, are prolonging their sex life, and this is becoming increasingly the largest group of risk of infection of HIV, because they do not They recognize with this and have difficulty adapting to preventive practices, such as condom use. In this context, the present research was needed, aimed to establish the prevention and diagnosis of HIV-1 and HIV-2 in elderly Castanheira district of the Portel city of Pará state. The sample size was 40 elderly, data collection was carried out during the month of November 2015. After signing a consent form Clarified was individually sent the elderly to a private place where he could be held an orientation by way of prevention regarding contagion and risks the disease soon after there was blood collection for analysis, all collection obeyed biosafety standards and ethics necessary research. The diagnosis was given by RAPID CHECK; a rapid test that detects HIV viruses 1 and 2 within 15 minutes. At the end of the waiting time was given the test result to the elderly.
