Within this context, Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) presents a global challenge due to its slow and difficult environmental degradation, despite being a highly recyclable material. This research evaluated the technical feasibility of rendering mortars incorporating PVC waste (10%, 20%, and 30%) as a replacement for fine aggregate. Due to the hydrophobic nature of the polymer, 5 workability required an increase in the w/c ratio to maintain consistency. The composites exhibited a reduction in bulk density as the polymer content increased, resulting in a decrease of approximately 31% in the AR-PVC30 mortar, which enabled them to be classified as lightweight mortars. In the hardened state, although the 20% content showed a peak in capillary absorption, the 30% waste mix exhibited a reduction in this coefficient, suggesting that the repellent nature of PVC may hinder water transport within the matrix at high concentrations. Additionally, there was a sharp reduction in flexural tensile strength, which declined from 3,95 MPa in the reference mix to 1,38 MPa in the 30% replacement mix.
