Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Bacharelado em Ciência da Computação) – Faculdade de Computação, Instituto de Ciências Exatas e Naturais, Universidade Federal do Pará, Belém, 2021. Disponível em:. Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/7813The SBC (Sociedade Brasileira de Computação) indicates in the document Diretrizes para o Ensino daComputação na Educação Básica (2019) that the introduction of computing in basic education plays a fundamental role in the development of computational skills in students, so that they are able to understand the digital world, dividing the teaching of computing into three areas: computational thinking, culture and digital worlds. In addition, SBC also establishes five specific computing skills and states that these skills are directly linked to the development of the ten general skills of BNCC (Base NacionalComum Curricular), listing the computing contents that must be worked on in each year of basic education. Given the multidisciplinary potential of teaching computing, this work seeks to encompass different knowledge to mitigate gaps in society, such as the distance between deaf and hearing people due to the lack of engagement in encouraging Brazilian Sign Language for hearing. In vew of the importance of teaching scientific computational concepts in basic education and a linguistic barrier between deaf and hearing people, this work presents the development of a digital educational game, called Barco Binário, which teaches the logic of converting binary numbers in a playful way and associated with the introduction of numerals in Brazilian sign language for hearing. For that, it was necessary to apply the logic of converting binary numbers into decimal numbers in a contextualized and recreational way, to develop the decoding skill in digital format, to develop an ability to relate decimal numbers to their signs in Brazilian sign language and to evaluate the tool through tests and questionnaires applied to users users. Therefore, it prove that the use of educational games to teach the logic of binary numbers associated with the introduction of numerals in Brazilian sign language can be efficient, since more than 87,5% of the interviewees understood, partially or totally, the process of binary conversion and about 75% of the evaluators stated that they managed to relate the numbers with their respective signs in Brazilian sign language after using the game, which imposes the observation that multidisciplinary teaching computing can be quite relevant to transmit different knowledge to society.
