Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10239An accurate impression is crucial for the success of rehabilitations with fixed restorations, as this step has a direct effect on the marginal adaptation of the prosthesis. This research aimed to conduct an integrative literature review to comparatively analyze the accuracy of conventional and digital impressions in obtaining fixed prostheses, focusing on the measurement of the marginal misfit of finalized crowns. The search was conducted in the PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Embase, and ScienceDirect databases, resulting in 1660 results; 73 studies were selected for full-text reading, and 43 papers were selected to support this review. It was observed that there is a notable number of authors seeking to investigate the accuracy of fixed restorations through the measurement and statistical analysis of marginal discrepancy in crowns produced by either analog or digital approaches. The inclusion criteria applied were studies addressing crowns and fixed partial dentures, comparing their fabrication using both impression techniques, in vivo and in vitro surveys presenting quantitative data, and systematic reviews with metaanalysis. Although there is no consensus among researchers, the evaluation of the data indicated that both approaches are qualified to produce restorations with clinically acceptable adaptation. Even though digital workflows have demonstrated, in numerous situations, a performance equal to or superior to that of conventional techniques, especially when associated with fully digital workflows. It is concluded, therefore, that DI produces crowns with similar or superior accuracy compared to CI, both with adequate adaptation for successful rehabilitation. It is also worth noting that the selection of the method should consider clinical factors, the availability of resources, and the expertise of the dentist. Furthermore, greater methodological standardization is needed in future studies.Acesso AbertoMoldagem digitalMoldagem convencionalAdaptação marginalPrótese parcial fixaPrecisão DigitalimpressionConventional impressionMarginal adaptationFixed denture partialAccuracyCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::ODONTOLOGIAPrecisão das próteses parciais fixas: impressão convencional versus digitalTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - MonografiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
