Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8411The following work proposes research on “Praça Dom Mário Miranda de Villas Boas”, also known as “Praça do Marex”, in order to propose an urban requalification project for the area that serves the Maracangalha neighborhood and its surroundings, one which presents a deficiency in urban infrastructure due to its location on the outskirts of the city of Belém do Pará. The research addresses a general overview of the importance of urban open spaces with the aim of understanding the role of leisure facilities in the daily life of cities based on bibliographical references. With this in mind, we proceed with a photographic diagnosis of the area where the physical aspects of the urban equipment will be included, in addition to the history and spatial context for which the square is located.
