Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8825In the second half of the 18th century, the economy of the state of Grão-Pará was profoundly impacted by the activities of the General Commerce Company, which intensified the introduction of enslaved Africans and reorganized trade routes in the Amazon region. This work analyzes the enslaved population between 1774 and 1776, observing the demographic characteristics of the different parishes. The research identifies not only the growth of the African contingent but also the inequality in its internal distribution, linked to local economic dynamics and the greater integration of certain areas into trade.
