Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9812The present study aims to reflect on the challenges and possibilities of literary reading practices in Youth, Adult, and Elderly Education (EJAI), based on the experiences lived during Supervised Internship IV, carried out in EJAI classes at a public state school in the municipality of Bragança, Pará, from April 29 to June 3, 2025. The study is mainly based on the contributions of Freire (1989), Arroyo (2017), and Pimenta; Lima (2012), who discuss reading, literacy, and the reality of EJAI students, as well as on the assumptions of Kleiman (1989), Colomer (2007), Cosson (2014), and Fuza, Ohuschi and Menegassi (2011) on reading as an interactive process, literary education, and literary literacy. Methodologically, this is field research with a qualitative approach, conducted through observations (from May 6 to 16, 2025) and teaching activities (from May 26 to 30, 2025), with records in a field diary. The results revealed difficulties related to reading, text interpretation, and students’ oral participation. However, dialogical and contextualized pedagogical practices promoted greater classroom engagement.
