Based on a theoretical and normative approach, using documentary research and bibliographic review, the role of the inspector is examined as an essential agent to ensure the advantageousness, legality, transparency and cost-effectiveness of public contracts. The study explores the principles that govern the new Bidding Law, the relationship with public governance and the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, in addition to presenting relevant case law from the Federal Court of Auditors (TCU) on the prerogatives and prohibitions applicable to the inspector.
