Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/7990This paper presents a technical study of structural modification in an anchoring device originally designed to support maximum loads of up to 300 kg, with the aim of increasing its capacity to 1 ton. The need for modification arose from new operational requirements in biological containment systems, especially in activities involving lowering the suction of hydraulic structures. The original device consisted of two I-beams, manufactured in ASTM A36 steel, and had a tubular French arm that supported the main arm. Initially, a structural analysis was performed using the finite element method (FEA), based on the Von Mises criterion, evaluating the performance of the structure under maximum concentrated load. The results indicated stresses close to the yield point of the material, suggesting the need for reinforcements. The modification involved replacing the French arm with an I-beam, enlarging the anchoring eyes, including a T-beam in the upper part and lower reinforcements for redistribution of forces. The new configuration was validated through additional FEA simulations, with distributed load between two anchorage points. The results revealed stresses of up to 218.12 MPa and a total deformation of 3.1656 mm, remaining within the admissible limits of the material used.
