In the early 1930s, discussions about the preservation and conservation of natural resources, especially of the Amazonian fauna, intensified, which led to the creation of important laws and decrees aimed at the rational use of these resources. In this context, the Emílio Goeldi Museum acquired great relevance, especially due to its long history of research and preservation in the Amazon. Therefore, the research intends to use records of official documents from that period related to the social, economic and scientific networks that supported the trade in wild animals, seeking to understand both sides of a complex issue involving biodiversity, that is, the dynamics between trade and science.
