Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10117The civil construction sector, despite contributing to environmental degradation in terms of residue generation and large-scale use of non-renewable natural resources, is also responsible for the inclusion of ecological products produced from residue in construction. From this concern, the use of vegetable fibers has become frequent, since the fibers are biodegradable and easily accessible. Its characteristics meant that its use was applied to acoustic panels in order to control noise in closed environments. In the state of Pará, one of the fibers frequently found due to its high consumption and production, is the fiber from the açaí core. Due to its abundance, the present study aimed to use açaí seed fiber as a raw material in the production of acoustic panels to evaluate its acoustic performance in different geometries. In this way, the panels were produced and underwent characterization of their biological, physical and sensory properties, as well as their adhesion to the internal lining. Then, the panels went through the application of surface finish in order to improve them in terms of aesthetics and also perform the comparison between the panels with different geometries and variation of the surface finish when their acoustic characterization through the reverberating chamber is attested. The results obtained through the research attested to the use of fiber from the açaí core in the production of acoustic panels, so that the biological, physical and sensory properties of the panel achieved satisfactory results for use in indoor ambiences, as well as its assessment of adherence in internal coatings. Regarding the acoustic properties of the panels, the panels of both geometries and with different surface finishes achieved satisfactory results, despite the square geometry panels obtaining superior performance to the circular geometry panel.
