Acesso em:https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/2183The underwater sensor networks with acoustic transmission began to be studied with the motivation of the development of new applications for the exploration, study and the protection of the oceans. The underwater sensor networks present different differences in relation to terrestrial sensor networks, the main ones being the greater energy consumption required for the transmission. In submarine sensor networks, sound is the main tool used as the communication medium, due to the restrictions of radio communication and optical communication in the aquatic environment, acoustic transmission has become the most viable alternative, even with the restrictions imposed by the Channel: Reduced bandwidth, delay, high attenuation, high latency and limited bandwidth of acoustic channels make existing MAC protocols designed for impractical or inefficient radio networks for underwater network sensor. This work evaluates through simulations the feasibility of monitoring, control and energy consumption applications using the submarine sensor networks. For the simulations, the simulator textit Network Simulator-2 and the module textit Aqua-sim were used, which effectively simulates the attenuation in the submarine acoustic channel, delays and collisions in the network. Three basic topologies are used as the standard for underwater networks: frame, star and line. In relation to the MAC protocols, we propose the R-MAC. The results show that topologies associated with MAC protocols better meet the needs and peculiarities of the vast majority of monitoring and control applications using subsea acoustic networks.Acesso AbertoRedes de sensoresSensor networksCNPQ::CIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRASimulação e avaliação de desempenho em redes de sensoresSimulation and performance evaluation in sensor networksTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
