Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/3067The following paper intends to analyze the newspaper coverage of the O Liberal and Diário do Pará newspapers about the environmental accident that took place in Barcarena on February / 2018 involving the Norwegian company Hydro/Alunorte, with the main focus being on how the scientific dissemination gained visibility and impacted the coverage of the case. For this, the methodology used was the quantitative and qualitative analysis of content, as described by Jorge Pedro Sousa (2013). In the quantitative analysis, it was tried to evaluate the emphasis given to the coverage from the events for each of the newspapers paraenses through the number of texts, called cover, space occupied and other quantifiable aspects.
